Gfs Lipstick Humbucker

I just saw one of hte WEIRDEST things I've ever come across. GFS has a humbucker... but the coils are both lipstick pickups, like old school danelectro style!?

Thought I'd share and also see what other's had to say.

I looked and looked for some inexpensive lipsticks for a project, and just when I decided on a different design here comes GFS.

So yeah, I've never tried em but I'ma gunna.

Very cool. Don't like the look with that ring though...needs a pickguard!

I'd be tempted to pick up a set of the single-coil lipsticks he has for my strat though...

Probably the same pickups.

It's hard to tell though. If you read the GFS ads, he's often saying things like "we wound this one superhot" as if there's a shop in Massachusetts where they're churning these things out.

But then there's a company in Korea with a catalog full of pickups that look suspiciously like the GFS stuff.

So who knows? His prices aren't unreasonable, so it's always worth a try.

Just found a nice guitar with pretty much the same pickups...

And I gotta say that if I made a 12 stringer it'd be with those!!
