brutas
I am constructing my first guitar. In research process I have run across articles written by Ed Roman. Those of you who know Ed know he is very opinionated. My question is: Is his advice accurate or is he just trying to make his products look better? Thanks for your help. thegarehanman
In a lot of instances, the things that he says will improve "tone" are totally subjective. You have to take into account that tone is subjective. LP players say strats have bad "tone", strat players say LP's have bad "tone," etc. His thing about pressing the humbucker into the neck...well I honestly think you couldn't hear the difference between that and a ring mounted humbucker in a blind test. Just for safety's sake, ask around here and other guitar building sites about any ideas you get from roman before actually implementing them. peace, russ
