redwhiteandthemaple Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Need I say more? Hmm.. actually... How do you guys clean your hardwares + How do you clean/ or at least tidy up rust? Such as sweat bubbles on bridges, etc. Quote
whitey Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 for a good clean, take everything apart, some brasso or metal polish on a cotten bud, gets into those hard to reach area's or for a quick little clean up,you can buy cans of air. lol.its compressed air and it shots all the dust away easily and doesnt harm your guitar Quote
axe_murderer Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 I have been using Mister Clean majic erasers to take crud off the metal, and I use it to wipe the body and neck..seems to remove oils from hands and other crud rather well.....plus seems to remove the residue from cigarette smoke tha inevitably gets on my guitars from playing bars.../ to " polish" metal I use zims metal polish.. unclej Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 when i get a guitar in the shop with a lot of tarnish/rust/bubbles i take the little wire brush bit for my dremmel tool and burnish it with that. i've never had it take off any of the plating and it leaves a nice patina. for new stuff that's just plain dirty canned air or a q-tip and a little windex works fine.
