rokeros Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Ok, I wanted to see more videos about guitar building such as the wayne charvel collection and came across www.youtube.com and did a quick search to find the following interesting videos that may help some of you in many ways. Enjoy (GODIN SD may like this) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUEQgQ8Z-uU...=guitar%20build Quote
j. pierce Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 Seeing some of the tools in that Godin video makes me drool. I'll have to try out something akin to their method for clamping a scarf joint, it seems like it would work better than what I'm doing and I wouldn't have to worry about having the headstock piece the same thickness as the neck. verhoevenc Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 Man, that Godin video is just not fair... they make a guitar look SO easy to build and so quick when the rest of us put HOURS upon HOURS into each tedious step and have to be SO accurate as to not screw anything up. Where as they just clamp it in and off the machine goes... I mean, I'm not saying that'd be a fun way to make your instruments... but I'm still jealous lol Chris Quote
Daniel Sorbera Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 That one of the Godin was posted here recently. I really like the way they slot the fret boards and sand the fret ends. Those are two tasks which I would certinly welcome the use of some CNC Quote
Mattia Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 Neither the slotting or the fret edge sanding was CNC's in the Godin vids, was it? Looked like a straight-up set of ganged sawblades and a mecahnized sander, but that don't mean CNC... Quote
