PunkRockerLuke
Is this a 1:1 scale drawing or close to a 1:1 scale drawing? http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A9iby4fGGXJElScB...es/3001-926.jpg I will eliminate the TOM holes since I'm only not using one. along with the neck humbucker since I'm using only one humbucker (A Dimarzio Fred). And if anyone could tell me the scale heigth and width of an SG pickguard I could use that to get it to the right size in microsoft word. PunkRockerLuke
Could I make a wood baseplate for a bridge and add the saddles and still be able to ground the bridge?
PunkRockerLuke
Hello? Anybody know the answer to my question?
PunkRockerLuke
Anybody?
Mattia
No clue about the SG, don't have one, but re: bridge: as long as you've got conductive material between strings and the string ground, you're fine. Wood doesn't conduct. Work it out from there.
PunkRockerLuke
OK Anyone know about the SG pickguard????
thegarehanman
No one's said anything because this is totally self explanitory. Figure out the dimensions of a humbucker's hole, then scale the image of the pickguard up until the dimensions of the holes for the humbuckers match the dimensions you've figured out. Mickguard
Tell you what, if you don't want to figure this out for youself, just buy this SG pickguard --it's homemade, so the bidding isn't going to be much. Once you have it, use it as a template for your own.
PunkRockerLuke
I got it to the correct size but I will have to make the SG pickguard kinda longer so that I can get the SG pickguard to cover the bridge humbucker's "ears"
Marzocchi705
Well do that then... Why do you need to make it longer? its already long enough to cover the Brige PU's ears.
PunkRockerLuke
the body I'm using it on isn't an SG it's my version of the IJS20 body and the bridge humbucker is lower than the pickguard. Marzocchi705
Ok, that clears up alot. Just print out the standard pick gaurd shape then draw on what you needon to the shape. It should just flow out longer, i did one simelar for my SG-esqe body (that i never finished), then just transfer it onto your chosen material. Remember to chamfer the edge for that professional look.
