stenns
Ive been looking ALL over the internet for a post on what the les paul body thickness is and i cant find it! And I know Ive seen it before! I think it is 1-3/4" mahogany and 3/4" of maple at its tallest. Does this sound right? Thanks
Primal
2.5 inches, sounds about right. I think the thickness around the edge is 2".
frazzled
2 1/4" in total. You're right about the edge, it's 2". You'd probably be best off using 1 3/4" thick Mahogany with a 1/2" maple cap.
Setch
The carve of a Les Paul is 1/2" deep. The maple cap is approx 3/4", so it is carved down to approx 1/4" at the edges. The body is 2" at the edges and 2.5 at the thickest point of the carve.
