Bill-Murray
What's the best acoustic pickup for the most reasonable price out there? If I don't hear anything, I'll probabably just pick up a Dean Markley. Thanks
crafty
Can't really go wrong with Dean Markely. I use a Duncan Woody on my Big Baby Taylor. If I weren't choosing on price, though, I'd probably get either an EMG, DTAR, or Fishman piezo or an EMG or Fishman Neodymium mag pickup. Mattia
For around 100 bucks, I'd also very seriosuly consider a K&K Sound True Western.
mikhailgtrski
The L.R. Baggs I-Beam sounds really nice. Very natural, good dynamic range, none of the harsh piezo quack, and it records well straight into the desk. Only downside is it's not as feedback-resistant as an under-saddle piezo for really loud gigs. You can find them (with preamp) for about $125 - $135. Mattia
Also: the K&K doesn't require a preamp. It can be expanded to include one, and use one if necessary, but it doesn't need one. A lot of acoustic builders I know offer them as standard.
