EKO
Hi guys, im making a doubleneck mandoguitar, as the guitarist has dropped out of my country band ..and i wanted to make one! those are two rough designs, angled and parralel necks, ...any opinions? here is the mando neck as it is now, aussie oak and jarrah fretboard http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/Luc...henry-neck1.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h287/Luc...henry-neck2.jpg The guitar neck is a blank strat neck, and i have the electrics from a strat. Im looking for a piece of maple to bookmatch for a one piece body. hope i havnt broken any photo posting rules... tell me what you think! Ben
I like the first one better cos the body is smaller- but I think that on the parallel-necked guitar you could probably get away with moving the 2 necks closer to each other... Also both body shapes look pretty cool in some ways- but still need some refinement IMHO. As you say- they are only rough designs though. Sounds like a cool project! EKO
yeah to be honest i dont like the body of the parallel one, it was just a plan ages ago, i was just deciding which neck alignment to go with. cheerz
erikbojerik
I like the hockey-stick mando neck! None of those body shapes really grab me...as long as you're going with a Fender vibe, I'd try a wide Strat body. Or, you can get pre-made double-neck bodies from Warmoth. Nitefly SA
The body designs look like you snapped a picture of a lava lamp.
Hasa
I like the first one better because it would be easier to play the guitar neck and you wouldn't risk bumping the tuners or having the headstock of the mando neck getting in the way. Though depending on how you play, this might not be a problem. The idea in itself is pretty cool, and would be fun to try one day.
EKO
Latest plan for a body: The Necks are finished, but i havnt dyed them or anything Im open to opinions!
Ben
I like it, but I would try to shrink the mando-half somehow. Not only does it look to large, but it would add weight too.

Unless this area is completely hollowed out, that's going to be a lot of extra weight!
tirapop
I prefer the angled necks. Have you seen this before?

Calum_Barrow
I like the latest body design (check out my double neck if you don't know what I'm on about) And I'm guessing you're an Eko player? What've you got? a Ranger VI? (going off your avatar)
