Posted September 15, 2006 Report Share Posted September 15, 2006 (edited) ok now I was woundering if I could use any 6string bass pickup other than the EMG-45DC for my 8-string guitar build, I found a MIGHTY MITE MMSA6-BKF 6 STRING ACTIVE PICKUP for 30 bucks and Im wounder if it would work and sound roughly the same as or better than the EMG any ideas or tips? !!METAL MATT!! Prostheta Posted September 16, 2006 Report Share Posted September 16, 2006 (edited) Not unless you reduce the string spacing, and besides it's comparable to an EMG-85 in an EMG-35 sized housing and has seven-string spaced polepieces as opposed to blades. The EMG DCs have blades AFAIK.
