sexybeast
Here's the diagram This is a copy of my GFS diagram. A Crunchy PAF This is my problem. I want to simply use this as a neck humbucker, but all the other pickups I've used had only a ground and a hot. This diagram confuses me because it names the black as ground, but there's also a big bare ground wire coming out of the bundle. Someone just tell me which wires get connected together and to the switch and what happens to the rest. I can wire the switch and the other pickups, but I need to know how to configure this one. PLEASE HELP, MY AXE IS USELESS AS OF NOW!!! Just for your knowledge, it's in a H/S/H configuration.
Robert_the_damned
you need to connect both the black and bare to ground.
sexybeast
Got it, but what do I do with the other ones? Does that mean the green goes to the switch, or do the red and white? What happens to the one left over?
Mattia
Red to White (you're 'looping' the signal through, like), green to switch, rest to ground.
lovekraft
Green wire to switch, solder red and white together and tape 'em off ( or put a bit of heatshrink on the joint). <edit>Sorry, mattia, looks like we were posting at the same time. sexybeast
Thanks guys, I got it working. I went to guitarnuts.com and did the shielding modification shown here. MAN is it awesome!! The guitar has more sustain and better tone, not to mention the single coil is HUM FREE!! I reccomend it to anyone, especially since I was able to do it. If I can, you can. sexybeast
Sorry to confuse you. It's a humbucker in a H/S/H configuration.
