Do Bartolini Pickup Covers Come Off.....?

I was wondering if Bartolini covers come off or do you just put the wood covers right over the plastic covers???

This is for a Bass build.

No they don't come off. They're epoxied to the pickups like EMG's

you could build a thin box to fit over the pickups out of wood though (thinnish veneers maybe?)
