12056 Posted December 26, 2006 Report Share Posted December 26, 2006 isnt the metod to slight grain expansion is to put a little bit of water on the scratched/gouged/whatever wood, then put a cloth on the wood, then put an iron on the cloth? im a little confused. help is much appreciated. thanks. You can impregnate those w/ water and heat and they might expand, but will shrink back the way they were when all the moisture evaporates. Prostheta Posted December 27, 2006 Report Share Posted December 27, 2006 Put the tip of the iron onto the soaked tissue. This will develop steam which will heat and expand the wood fibres underneath.
