JPK Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Hey there, i'm planning on building a neck through hollow guitar and staining it pink, whether this sort of stain is available i don't know. The reason i was the stain is because the person i am building it for wants the grain to show through, but wants it to be pink (yes it is a girl) can you guys help me out here, can it be done, if it can how, and is a pink stain available? verhoevenc Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 Not sure... but the search button sure is available. And I'm about 100% sure that it knows ALOT of the subject. Chris Quote

Southpa Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 (edited) Just try some of this on a wood sample and see if it works for you. I've used the stuff quite a lot on light colored woods like maple and spruce and got good results. Very strong penetration and does not fade or discolor, at least it hasn't for me. I have guitars that have been treated with this over 4 years ago and they are still the same. Mix with water to the concentration you want and rub into the wood with a rag. Let dry and then clearcoat with lacquer or poly. Edited February 5, 2007 by Southpa Quote

Paul Secondino Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 Also, you can take dyes and mix them for custom colors. All you need is a color chart like this http://www.listen-up.org/kitty/beads/mix%2...lor%20chart.htm You can then mix a few colors to get pink and eitherstain the wood or mix the color into your lacquer or poly to create a transparent. Drak Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 I'm sorry, but you are wrong, you will never get pink with dyes alone. Pink is acquired by mixing a red anilyne dye with a tiny bit of white pigment such as Tints All. Quote
