menaceg Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 (edited) Hey Guys i have this Bubinga top I want to finish. I have used some off cuts and tried clear lacquer and Danish oil, but they didn't bring up the beautiful grain liked i hoped it would of. Any ideas on how to get the grain jumping out at ya! I am not sure if you can stain this stuff, personal I don't think it would help. but i am open to ideas. Edited February 11, 2007 by menaceg Quote
westhemann Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 i don't see any flame or quilt to "bring out" all i see are very nice ring patterns or whatever they are called...you can't make those "pop"...there is nothing to pop... just clear it...it looks nice enough.you CAN use colored grain filler and make the pores stand out,but i don't know why you would want to make the pores stand out...some people do though Quote
Mattia Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 If oil's not doing it (assuming you did sand all the way to 800 to 1500 grit or so, no scratches), then I don't think much will. Quote
