suicidecustom Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 sorry, had some problems posting this the first time. my brother is looking for a tone circut that rather than rolling off the low end will roll off both low and high freq's. when fully engaged he would like it to have a midrange "lofi" sound. just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible, thanks Quote
biliousfrog Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 try a wah circuit, there's plenty of DIY effects sites with schematics for them. Quote
unklmickey Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 hi "Froggy", that's probably the easiest and best way to get there. i was thinking along the lines of a Varitone, but with the inductor and capacitor(s) in parallel, rather than series. but that would take a bit of experimentation to get things right. Mickguard Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 I just bought one of these --I bought the VTC, although it looks like the VTB allows you to set th frequency. And the EXP seems to do what you want it to do out of the box. The QTP might work too. Guitarfetish sells the same circuits, although he gives them funky marketing names and says 'we' all the time...well, you never know, he might be part of Artec after all (gets all his pickups from them too) But I bought mine from an ebay seller in the UK (edit: I just noticed he's in Singapore...has 100% positive feedback, but we'll see...) who has them for half the price. I haven't received it yet, so I can't speak for how good it sounds. I'm using it in a single-pickup guitar. Quote
biliousfrog Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 also, if you're based in the UK, www.axesrus.co.uk sell various onboard eq & fx modules plus they're quite cheap & free P&P Quote

weezerboy Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 cuts out a lot of the frequencies and makes it sound like you're playing through a broken speaker....very lofi. Quote
