fryovanni Posted May 18, 2007 Report Share Posted May 18, 2007 Well preferably out of site, but if it persists for 24 hours you better see a doc(ouch!). Best way to store it is to keep it dry(out of the rain). Seal the endgrain(sealer of your choice). Place sticks(sticker the wood till it is aclimated to your normal humidity levels), it is a good idea to place weight on stickered stack when you are first aclimating them). After it is stable I just stack it on flat even surfaces for long term storage(some prefer to keep it stickered). If you store it in a humidity controlled area be sure you maintain that control(seasonal changes are not that bad, but heavy artificial changes in humidity can be more risky). I would also comment that I believe in keeping the moisture content appropriate for my area(where I build and will use the guitar). Some people that ship guitars out of their area prefer to control their shop, to better suit the majority of areas the guitar may be shipped to(in the 45-55% range).
