White Summer
Ive got a piece of ivory that a friend gave me, but i dont know what to do with it. it measures 5/8"x5/8"x3". I'd love to use it on my guitar, since thats why he gave it to me, but it seems to not fit the theme of it. Me and my father made aluminum nav dots, aluminum inlays, brass nut, and brass accents. We also have aluminum capped knobs that we will use. I think it would be a sweet nut, but we already spent some effort into the brass, and with all these different metals, i think it wouldn't fit as a nut. i was thinking about an inlay with our initals on it, but im not sure how to do it. Maybe we could cut it into some small sheets and glue them together? what do you guys think? my guitar is on http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=29651
Daniel Sorbera
You could always save it for a later project. It would make a great acoustic nut/saddle/inlay.
ihocky2
I would save it for another project. I would figure out some nice inlays to do with it and have it sliced to like 1/16" thick so you have a about 8 pieces at about 1/16" x 5/8" x 3"
