TheIRS
Its going to be hard to answer that question unless you Bbe more specific about it, not all neck joints are the same.
svartberg
ok... i will manage that somehow... and what do you think about red oak for bass, is it good??
DigthemLows
ok... i will manage that somehow... and what do you think about red oak for bass, is it good?? 4 string? 5 string? What spacing do you want for your strings at the bridge, and at the nut.........once you know those things, you can figure the width anywhere on the neck. svartberg
4 strings, spacing will be like spacing on jazz bas (fender)... ok, but when i am drawing a body shape i must know where to attach neck, this is the problem...

There are still many things that can change this. Figure out the scale, the number of frets and draw up your bass, then figure where things meet and how inset you want the neck. Take a look at different basses out there! There are many options. Maybe draw the neck first and draw the body around it.

Bygde
This is basicaly how the guitar body should look... The horns look like they will break off, looks like there is too little material left
TheIRS
Looks really unstable and uncomfortable to both the body and the eyes. I would consider revising it, maybe making it a BIT more symmetrical and fattening up the horns.

Hector
how does a bass turns out to be a guitar? I know you changed your mind, but I would consider changing some things on the body. and I would never design a bass and then make it a guitar after I started. stick to your plans, I would say. svartberg
before cutting the wood i was thinking i will make bass guitar but after i saw other guitars i redesigned the blueprints and started cutting the wood in dimensions for standard el. guitar!!! black_labb
that lower horn looks like it would get in the way of your hand for upper fret access, otherwise its a nice unique design
WezV
Pciture 3 looks better to me - i dont like most of the body design but the horns are looking quite good in that picture
svartberg
yes... first pic. is taken before i shaped the horns and whole body again!! today i shaped holes in the wood for magnets and other electronics... after shaping the wood i will paint it... hm... there will be not much painting cause i will only draw picture and "burn" it on guitar...
