VesQ
how thick is the fretboard usually ? how often you can see jumbo frets with separate fretboard on a strat? I mean those factory made guitars. I asked this cause I made a neck which doesn´t fit my strat. no matter how high i screw saddles in the bridge. strings still touch the frets. I think there´s two reasons for this. Jumbo frets and too thick fretboard(7mm). heel should be fine. it´s 19mm/0.75" thick. I guess I have to remove frets and start sanding. I´m not really happy if I have go through this route.
killemall8
no, dont do that. you could just rout the neck pocket deeper. it probably doesnt have a neck angle on it, so you could just rout a little bit deeper, and that will fix the problem. RAI6
Thin out the heel.
Racer X
Yeah, I'd thin out the heel. That way, you don't mod your body past typical specs, and run the risk of other problems, if you need to swap necks, down the line. In other words, if the prob is the neck, mod the neck.
