Boggs
First three bodies are CamelBacks. Pics are in pairs of front and back. The first is padauk top and chambered Alder middle and back. http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Cam...lBackBody2s.JPG Next is padauk top and back and chambered Cuban mahogany middle. http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Cam...lBackBody3s.JPG http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Cam...lBackBody4s.JPG Finally, this is poplar top an chambered middle and laminate birch back. http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Cam...lBackBody5s.JPG http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Cam...lBackBody6s.JPG Now, the Mantis bodies... First two bodies are both poplar top and chambered middle with laminate birch backs. http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Man...antisBody1s.JPG http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Man...antisBody2s.JPG http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Man...antisBody3s.JPG http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Man...antisBody4s.JPG Finally, the last one is a koa top and back with chambered poplar middle. These three are true lightweights! You should be able to play these for hours without fatigue... http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Man...antisBody5s.JPG http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Man...antisBody6s.JPG This is typically how far I take them until I would get customer requirements for neck, pickups and electronics configurations etc... The extensions and holes in them are for jigging for secondary operations. I'm still working on developing the bass and the 12-string CamelBack for customers as well. This stuff is what I do in my "spare time..." I still make my living at Xerox full time. I think it goes without saying that I've GOT to get out more! Rick500
Sorry Boggs! I meant to come back to the thread but I get distracted easily (usually by small, shiny objects ). Maybe make one o' those links an image to generate some more replies. (I'd love to have the stash of wood you apparently have. ) [Edit: Do you use a router template guide to route your control cavities and covers? They look like a really tight fit.] Edited November 16, 2007 by Rick500
jmrentis
What Rick said is a good idea, find your best pic and make it an imagine instead of link, this will often create/spark interest. Like Rick, I actually meant to respond, like I mean to do many times and just forget. I will say at first when looking at the pics I was trippin out at the outline and I couldn't tell right away what was going on. All in all, they will be some great guitars, make sure you post the progress on them as they get finished. I definitely liked the Koa one, its one I would love to listen to because a piece of chambered poplar sandwiched between two pieces of Koa just sounds like a wicked combo. If you get a chance before you send it off finished try and let us know how it sounds. Another great thing is how you mentioned its light weight, I can definitely believe that and that is a great thing. Nice stuff, can't wait to see how they get personalized.
