iwantnewpickups
is it possible to convert a bolt-on guitar to a set-neck? will this change the tone much? add sustain?
Devon Headen
Unless you did some major work to give more area to have the neck attatch to, even if you could get it set, I don't see where it would change the tone much if you already have a tight bolt on joint. MikeB
its possible yes, however you would need a STRONG glue to compensate for the smaller area, and i would shim the neck till it was really tightly fitted. Cascamite is a strong glue, and Araldite also. cyas mike
Guest Litchfield Custom Gutars
I did it on an Encore LP style. The paint must be totally off the neck & out of the pocket.
westhemann
i wouldn't...you really should have more surface area than that.but i have done it on a loose neck pocket before.
