thewongster Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Hello there long time no post! Ok, so what would be the best way to cut out a pickguard? Im trying to replicate the pickguard to ressemble a marcus miller precision bass pickguard, however the horn will be slightly modified. Thank you, and what would be the best way to grainfill the wood? where would I find such a product? Quote
Jon Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Scrollsaw, bandsaw, or coping saw, whichever you have available. For grain filling I use epoxy. CA glue also works well. Quote
aidlook Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 I make a template first and use a template-following bit to rout the pickguard out, then use the same template to bevel the pickguard with a 45 degree router bit. After that I just scrape any uneven parts. Quote
