criss Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 (edited) i want to do a headstock and it needs to be painted after the Mop is in . Do i mask the logo or do i just paint over it and scrape the paint later . Bmth Builder Posted May 25, 2008 Report Posted May 25, 2008 You could leave the inlay a little proud of the paint, whack on the colour coats and then sand the MOP flush (taking the paint off) and then the whole thing up to grit before clear. Quote
RFR Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 An old Gibson trick is this; You take two inlays, the inlay that is already inlaid on the guitar is hit with some lacquer. Then stick your second inlay on top of the first. The finish will act as glue, sticking the second inlay on the first. Spray away, and pop off the second inlay with a razor blade. Works like a charm!
