Just adhere leather to the front of the old pickguard? i took a piece of leather and used fiberglass cloth and resin on the back and added some copper foil for shielding. then used a old pickgaurd to make a template out of 1/4" hard board. thats about it pretty easy Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Tim37 Posted April 3, 2009 Author Report Share Posted April 3, 2009 thanks its supposed to be just plain distresed leather (bomber jacked style) but i put tape on it to protect it and it messed up the finish giving it a suede look. i have some high gloss leather but i was afraid it would just loose itself and look like plastic. but i have to do one for my nephew i will try to steer him toward something with some gloss and post pics. i will also try to get ahold of a camra and not use my phone. btw i am looking for some tooled leather i think that would come out really nice. thanks agian Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
