Recommended Posts

That is the rod I use on all of my guitars. The dimensions are exact.

wow seems extremely small??? so that means i can carve my uber thin neck i like?? similar to the RG series ibanez guitars?

sweet thanks for the confirmation :D

also whats the difference between a one way and two way truss rod?

http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Truss_rods/Adj..._Truss_Rod.html

i was thinking that truss rod but its one way? not sure what that means? haha

one last question before i post pics later haha

about how many feet of fret wire do you need to complete a 25" scale 24 fret guitar neck? Thanks so much again guys :D i cant wait until i get your responses about the pics

(first coat- sealer)

hmmm. i guess i forgot to take pics of me masking the front off to paint the back satin black, anyway here is a pic to show it you get the idea :-P

aniceday088-1-1.jpg

at this point i had i think a second coat of clean on (routs were done and cavitys and what not)

anyway after painting the guitar black i started finishing the routs.

(this is me pre drilling the cavitys for the router)

Hello!

This great, you faced him. For me this a dream is left because my lodge burns far only...

I would show him my guitar with pleasure. The title of some e-mail like that is on what he is allowed to write directly? If you write it into private one it is good...

thanks

Looks like you did a good job, sorry I did not respond to your last question about the neck thickness,I forgot about this topic...I don't look at PRS shaped guitars too much...

But even though it is too late for this one,I can give you tips for getting a thin neck on the next one with the hot rod.

First, the difference between a two way rod and a one way rod is that the two way can force the neck forward as well as backwards,If needed....very handy.

Now..to get a thin neck don't forget about the fretboard...you can shave it down to 3/16" or even 5 /32"...just make sure your fret slots are only as deep as they need to be so that you don't get too close to the back of the board.

That is the most important thing...get that fingerboard thin.It allows you to keep more at the back of the neck where you need it most.

Always use a volute...very,very important on thin necks...it adds more support right where you need it...even a small volute works wonders and if properly place you will never feel it.Put the rod as far towards the headstock as you can...I put mine where the top brass nut is flush with the back of the string nut...this keeps that part right where the volute should be...and this is the part of the rod that does the work.

use multi laminated necks if you can...just a good safety factor, and it is fun too..

now another thing alot of guys don't think about...fret size...Use short frets...mediums are all I use...if it says "Gibson sized" then that is what you want...don't fall for the Jumbo fret craze...

All of that together makes for a very comfy neck.
