You can get #10 threaded inserts and machine screws at any hardware store. #8 might do too, but I stuck with 10 because that's the size of the normal neck screws.

If you want to buy online you could try ebay or Ed Roman sells a kit(though it costs way more than the hardware itself would, $20): http://www.edroman.com/parts/IS_specialparts.htm#DCK

Woodcraft has the inserts, but I'd stick with their 8-32 because the 3/8" pilot hole for the 10-32 might go through the side of the neck.

Machine screws are easy to find, you probably want 1-1/2" length, measure your neck pocket to see.

It's better to buy hardware in-store though.

ah right, this one:

http://www.fender.co.uk/products//search.p...rtno=0107112841

and the tribute has a 4 plate neck too so might have the inserts in it, didnt realise that was a mod yngwie did??

http://www.fender.com/yngwie/english/guitar.php

when you said yngwie strat i just assumed the neck join was still like it would have been back in 1971 when his strat was new and unadulterated, which does include 1 machine bolt!!

from the pics it looks like fender actually make the relic version as a period correct 3 bolt necked fender before converting it to 4 bolts and treating it like ****

i have some inserts to try out but i consider them a bit bigger than ideal. not a problem for me since i can place them where i want but if i had done them in 4 bolt neck plate layout i think they would have split the heel

so far the ones supplied by moses graphite with there necks seem to be the nicest size i have seen - i really should have measured them!!
