Kutchinator Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Hey all, I just bought a Schecter C-1+ and it has a few things that seem easy enough to fix...but I could be wrong. Please make suggestions on how I could redo/repair these flaws, it would be much appreciated Quote
Crusader Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Depends what type of laquer was used. As far as I know some types of laquer you could just rub down and re-spray that area then finish off with sanding and polish. Other types you would have to re-spray the whole guitar Quote
Kutchinator Posted June 23, 2009 Author Report Posted June 23, 2009 I've been reading that these usually have poly on them. Quote
anderekel Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 You could try filling them with CA and buffing out. I've heard that works well. CA is super glue in case you didn't know. Quote
Kutchinator Posted June 23, 2009 Author Report Posted June 23, 2009 So it's safe to use CA on the 2 nicks on top of the guitar? (I'm new with guitar building right now if you couldn't already tell lol) Quote
ihocky2 Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 I would try it on just one of the nicks somewhere not very visable first and see how the results get first. Quote
Kutchinator Posted June 23, 2009 Author Report Posted June 23, 2009 Is there a specific brand or kind i should use so it doesn't come up white maybe? Quote
Dakhahn Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 You could try filling them with CA and buffing out. I've heard that works well. CA is super glue in case you didn't know. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the pics. Quote
Kutchinator Posted June 25, 2009 Author Report Posted June 25, 2009 So basically since everyone is saying superglue is there some kind of tutorial i could follow? Quote
