mwcarl
Looks pretty good and you learned the same lessons that I did when I completed my first build. Of course that didn't stop me from making some of the same errors on my second that I'm working on right now... Edit: Oh yeah, I'm going to be direct mounting the humbuckers on my second build, and I can't for the life of me figure out which wood screws to use that won't strip the threads on the pickup. Any tips? Edited September 29, 2010 by mwcarl
Johnny Foreigner
Edit: Oh yeah, I'm going to be direct mounting the humbuckers on my second build, and I can't for the life of me figure out which wood screws to use that won't strip the threads on the pickup. Any tips? I drilled out the threads on the pickups, then used brass inserts and regular humbucker screws: http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.ph...st&p=468069

Johnny Foreigner
only one thing I see wrong with the guitar....erm... love the LOGO...not! it needs a "JF" on there ...somewhere.... It's on there! Very subtle, but it's there as a 12th fret inlay. That's some typical English reserve for you right there.
mwcarl
Thanks JF, I think I'm going to do something similar to direct mount my pickups. Did you get those inserts from someplace special?

mwcarl
Okay, I'll have a look at a local hardware store (amazon doesn't ship those to Canada). Are you happy with the way it plays?
Johnny Foreigner
Are you happy with the way it plays? Yeah, I'm happy with it. I pretty much suck as a player, so I don't know that me being happy with it means much!
ScottR
Bravo Tom. It looks great. It's kind of got a blue jean blue thing going on. I like it. SR
Muzz
Good job Tom, that colour does look good on those stripes, that guitar is going to age really nicely.
