Tim37 Posted July 10, 2011 Report Share Posted July 10, 2011 one question Why? if your wanting cheap well i dont see you saving enough money to make it worth it. if your wanting big wire look at jumbo bass frets if your wanting to be diffent go for it. also a warning most stainless stock is fairly soft do your home work and make sure you buy some hardened stainless. Yeah, mostly to be different. I'm like the old grandpa that's always out in the garage making stuff. I always want to see if there's a better way to do something and I sort of have a problem with being told things have to be done only one way. It's fun. It would be wise to cut fret slots as per normal, bevel them heavily with a square file at 45° and finish with a Dremel. That's a great idea. I'm going to do it that way.
