joris Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I found some fret wire. the fret is 2.4 mm wide and 0.92 mm high. It is fred wire from Jim Dunlop. Can I use this kind of wire for my neck or is this a bad idea? Quote
daveq Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 If you are looking for fret wire - try stewmac or warmoth, ... I'm not sure about those measurements - they could be fine I just don't keep that stuff in memory. The nice thing about places like stewmac and warmoth is that they give comparison charts, ... concerning their fret wire. Do you have the tools for leveling and crowning? Quote
joris Posted January 21, 2004 Author Report Posted January 21, 2004 I don't have the tools yet, but i found a store in belgium where i can get them from. i'm making my solid body first, but i'm already looking for the stuff to make my guitarneck. hope to have some pictures to show soon Quote
syxxstring Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Dunlop is the most common manufacturer for fretwire. However, like suggested I would check Stewmac or Warmoth site like suggested. Quote
Quote
