Snork Posted February 2, 2004 Author Report Posted February 2, 2004 thanks! what does it sound like? Quote
westhemann Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 it is a very mild sounding pickup...the low output should match well with the others you have i think..and it has a smooth sound much like other pafs Quote
Snork Posted February 2, 2004 Author Report Posted February 2, 2004 i'm looking for almost a les paul sound out of the bridge. Not really a mellow sound, other wise i would go for another hot gold as the bridge. i'd say medium hot would be good. Quote
westhemann Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 WAIT,WAITWAIT!!!!! you typod in your original post...i thought you wanted a neck humbucker....i know the perfect bridge pickup for what you want...let me find it Quote
westhemann Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 http://wdmusicproducts.com/Merchant2/merch...y_Code=PUHMBCKR might be a good choice Quote
Snork Posted February 2, 2004 Author Report Posted February 2, 2004 do you know if it sounds good? Man i wish my computer was working good so i could show you the sound i got with this les paul on our last jam. it was awesome. What about EMG.... maybe that COULD work... i do need a rock/metal tone too out of this strat. Quote
westhemann Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 http://wdmusicproducts.com/Merchant2/merch...y_Code=PUHMBCKR this one i think is what you want Quote
westhemann Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 no you don't want emg for that Quote
Snork Posted February 2, 2004 Author Report Posted February 2, 2004 i'm looking for a rock tone. i have a pickup like that. i'm not a fan... no offense wes (cowers) That emg 85 was sounding PRETTY good last time i checked the clip! Quote
westhemann Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 well then if you want that you should go all active...the volume difference between an 85 and those others you list is VERY noticeable and you would have to wire the passives and actives seperately as the pots are different values...and you would still not be happy when you switched between them at the huge difference BUT there are emg actives which will work as replacements for the others Quote
westhemann Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 by the way though...that pickup i suggested is almost identical to the gibson les paul bridge you said you liked Quote
Reaper Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 I'm looking for a moderately cheap hum to put in the bridge position of my guitar. it needs to blend with this set up. (neck) holy grail (mid) Hot gold (neck hum) ____ i dont know if EMGS are a good choice wes... lol the other thing to watch for is, like the EMGs, it's difficult to combine Lace's Transensors with other pickups... Snork Posted February 2, 2004 Author Report Posted February 2, 2004 thanks wes! i think i will buy that pickup! Quote
