Rowley
I recently got my hands on an early 90's b.c rich ironbird (rare I'm told as it has a reverse headstock) The finish has been absolutely hammered it is a Glossy black, I was wondering if anyone could advise what prep i need to do on the wood for a Matt black finish as all can find is preparing it for a gloss finish, any other usefull tips, words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. westhemann
as i understand it the only difference is the paint itself...matt black verses gloss black.no difference in prep
Brian
Same prep like Wes said but unless you find or use an industrial strength automotive paint (even then) expect the matt finish to eventually rub to a gloss where you rub up against the guitar or lean your arm on it to play.
