jmkratt
Hi guys, About done with my first finish project. I used a satin poly and am wondering do I need to polish or buff it at all if I am satisfied with the look? Thanks for the help!
Charlie H 72
No need! Many satin finishes explicitly say not to polish or buff make sure to post pics when the time comes Edited August 4, 2022 by Charlie H 72
jmkratt
Awesome, thanks! That's what I thought but I've made so many mistakes I appreciate the confirmation! Learning a lot and having fun though so it's all good.
Bizman62
Matte finishes will become shiny if buffed. Greasy fingerprints will also show. And after some time you'll notice a shiny spot where your arm rests. As matte cars have become popular there's lots of information about maintaining the finish. Same principles apply, paint is paint is paint no matter the surface.
