Crusader
Hi guys, When I try to put a switch tip on the Telecaster its like there's something missing inside or broken (although I haven't seen any bits fall out) These are genuine Fender which came in a bag of two. Is a Tele switch different or something? I just used a generic one branded "Alpha"
Andyjr1515
I don't know for sure but I suspect it might be the Imperial vs Metric issue. The Fenders will be Imperial but it is possible that Alpha are metric.
henrim
I’m by no means a fender expert but got interested in this after reading @Andyjr1515 answer. Which I too think is the correct one. I’m always very interested in all insane situations caused by us having two different measuring systems. It appears that there is also a clever design available that can handle both metric and imperial. So simple yet an awesome solution!
henrim
I think I would probably try to fix it with epoxy. Unlikely that it actually attaches well to either the plastic knob or chromed shaft, but it would form an adapter between them.
Crusader
Imperial vs metric, I think you might be right. The Super switch is def wider (However I thought it would grip from the thickness, not the width)
