goth_fiend Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 I have a 3-way strat style switch that has 8 places to solder on where do I put the pickup leads, this is the schematic being used. http://guitarelectronics.zoovy.com/product/WDUHH3T1102 Quote
lovekraft Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Wire the coil taps using that diagram, then use this one to wire the switch. BTW, just to cut down on confusion, that's a Tele-style switch, the Strat hasn't used a 3-way for a couple of decades. Quote
goth_fiend Posted June 23, 2004 Author Report Posted June 23, 2004 now thats going to be a pain in the butt! what wires should i solder to which pins man?, my switch dont even look like that it looks like this: - -neck wire here - - -both vol/tone pots soldered here - - bridge wire here - Quote
lovekraft Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Where did you get the switch? I can't tell from your diagram -how many terminals does it have (8?)? Do you have a multimeter? And finally, are there any numbers on the switch? My first guess would be to wire the pickups to the outside two terminals, one pickup on each end, and wire the volume pot to the center two terminals (leave the other two terminals unconnected). Try that, and if it doesn't work, check back. Quote
Stalefish Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 Is it closed or open?? If it's open (ie you can see the wafer thingy and the connections), then you should be able to follow the connections to see which terminal is which.. A photo of the switch would help.. Quote
