If the paint ain't to bad, just sand it with 400-600, get all the imperfection out and then prime and paint. This was te advice I got last time I asked and is what i'm doing probably this weekend. If the paint is in decent condition, you would be better off to just leave most of that on there and to prep it by sanding off that glossy look. That will give the new paint something to bite into.
