daveq Posted July 6, 2004 Report Share Posted July 6, 2004 I've seen a bunch of camphor burl for sale for guitar building but man, that stuff is truely "sick" looking when raw. It looks like a disection of diseased human flesh. lots of camphor burl When finished, it can look pretty damn sweet. Sweet Bass Has anyone here used it? If so, can you share your experience in working with it in building and finishing? It looks like a real pain to handle the pits and swirls but I guess that could be said for other burls as well. I like camphor burl. It looks like birds eye maple, except with only the birdseye and no maple. Oh yeah, and it's a gorgeous orangey-red too!
