ibreakemineedtobuildem Posted July 10, 2004 Report Share Posted July 10, 2004 I just got in a bridge from ebay.It was a hardtail strat style.I have a couple,but they are all string through body.This loads through the back. soapbarstrat Posted July 10, 2004 Report Share Posted July 10, 2004 Can't you just drill 6 holes in the base plate so it can be used either way ? Here's my latest idea (for making a full-sized strat into a "travel guitar"). Holes in the baseplate and through the body are big enough for the strings to go through from the top of the guitar and out the back, then you run a metal rod through the ball-ends of the strings to anchor them against the back of the guitar. Then, you can always lossen the strings, pull the metal rod out and get the strings off the body. Either that or little washers with a notch cut through , so they slip onto the ball ends.
