rabidscoobie Posted July 12, 2004 Report Posted July 12, 2004 I just finished redoing my Ibanez RG570 with duplicolor paint and clear(Intense Blue Pearl). How long does it take for the finish take to harden or dry so that I can start putting this thing back together.Any Ideas? http://public.fotki.com/rabidscoobie/ Quote
litchfield Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 That depends on thickness of coats, time allowed to dry between coats, and number of coats. Not to mention temp & humidity. Quote
Rogviler Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Dupli-Color dries pretty fast. Give it five days to a week just to be safe, I'd say. Most paint in a spray can will be fully dry after a week, as a rule. Quote
legiticus Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Is that Dupli-color acrylic or poly? Quote
litchfield Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 The clear is acrylic....lemme go read the can Quote

butnut Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 The poly sold in spray cans is not the same as those used on cars and guitar factories. I't's called poly(urethane) but the auto type which gives the deep hard gloss is catalyzed (2 parts) and is shot with a spray gun. Very toxic, but gives a killer depth and gloss when sanded and buffed. I like it for my repaints. Quote
Tezifon Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 that would look killer with whites pus Quote
