iskim86
since I don't have steel wool, what bit can I use to get rid of the grime on my rosewood fingerboard? the polishing bit or the brush bit? please no suggestions like the router bit or drill bit or little bit. thanks
Ki swordsman
err......a piece of cloth seriously a little spit and a rag will do wonders, you can use a pick or your fingernail in the cloth for a hard edge, no need to break out the dremel.......unless it's hardcore crustified maybe
litchfield
Murphy's oil soap is the best for nasty stuff on the board.
Drak
I use Naptha and a toothbrush, then rag it off, but Naptha dries very quickly, so there's very little to remove usually. Works grrreat. Then, after I polish the frets with the dremel buffing wheel and some of the red polishing compound that comes with the dremel, I use the Stew-Mac fretboard finishing oil, let that dry 24 hours, then buff it (the rosewood) out with another white dremel buffing wheel. Makes for a very slick, smooth, and fast neck. But just to remove basic grime, naptha and a toothbrush will do it.
iskim86
i just used the brush tip beofre I got any reply. it's like toothbrush. it got all the gunk off... the it got hot that the grime MELTED and going on all of my frets and the whole fretboard. now I need something like denatured alcohol and a rag. A LESSON LEARNED.
