Cad is a lot better (imho), and you dont need any books, the turbocad available from guitarbuild for free, is quite easy to get used to , took me about 30 minutes and its quite powerfull for a free software, except it lacks in the curve department, they only have bezier curves, witch take some work to get them prefect, if your copying a shape, but its ok if your making your own shape.

Go to the Turbo CAD site and dowload TurboCAD LE (Learning edition) It's also free and is more powerful than the version from guitarbuild
