    I have purchased power tools from Craftsman, Delta, Ryobi, and Grizzly. The only one to have clear directions was Grizzly. That's very good to know, Jon. I'm going to check out Grizzly's offerings. c

    I need one badly in order to essentially complete my dream shop I've been building up for last 2 years. I'm very appreciative of the info in this thread AND this fantastic board that's now my home page. I'm leaning towards Delta for a planer and been kinda wondering about the combo jointer/planers. Good/Bad? I want to do cabinetry and furniture as well as build a guitar (a first).

    I have a 20-gallons HF compressor I bought a couple of years ago for around $150. It works great, doesn't use oil, had no problems. I've purchased many HF air tools and they're all working just fine. Just be sure to oil em when you use em. I have a HF gravity feed spray gun I haven't used yet. It appears people have used the same one for their projects with success. I'm happy. I'll use it on my guitar project. A lot of HF tools are cheap, but you can tell when you're thinking of buying them, holding them in your hands. Many of their handtools have a lifetime warranty, much like the Craftsman take-it-back-and-get-a-new-one policy. I always see my compressor on sale for $149. Carl

    It's time to get tough on copyright infringements, as well as ID Theft crimes here in the U.S. Melvyn, I know a good patent/copyright attorney. Man, I wish I would have spent the extra for overnight shipping, because I can't wait to get the book. I've been bitten by the bug. c

    Shame to hear about that. Just had to straighten out my banking, after somebody hacked me last week. Well, I'm brand new here, I have contributed to this great board, and I've been needing a book to read before I ask any meaningful questions here, so I just ordered your book from Stewart-MacDonald. It'll be dog-eared before you know it.

    I'm a newbie myself. Welcome to the board. I found this place after lurking around over at Seymour Duncan forums for a bit. This place loooks like it has most ALL the answers and a dedicated bunch of folks. Seashells? Interesting. That's nice work on the link.

    I have a bag below mine. It catches the bulk, but of course not the dust. I run fans, pushing the stuff out the door, and wear a mask. I'm going to get together some dust collecting equpiment. There's a sanding box I saw a Plan for I'm going to build myself, and Grizzly sells some good hookups for the common shopvac. www.grizzly.com

    I'm going to have to take a look at one of those. I have other Craftsman tools, saws. This saw looks killer, and the price is right. Hey, would you mind posting the height, width, depth, etc. Thanks. I do have a metal cutting Harbor Freight special, that allows you to cut in the upright position like this saw. My buddy says that will work, if I change the blade. Hmmm, I'm wondering. Rob, get propane. I've been very pleased with the quality of heat and it's fairly economical. I used to live in Palenville, just up the road, about 12 miles from Hunter Mountain. It's colder in NY than here in Oregon. LOL I use one of the single burner types, when its not so cold, and a rocket engine floor job type when its really brisk out. I bought a 50# tank. I get great gas mileage.

    Love the guitar. Just put together, but not quite done, refit of a body and neck I bought off Craigslist. I need to fit a nut and take her in for a setup. I fitted this Flying V copy with a SH-1 (59s) neck and SH-4 bridge pups, 500w potts, a three way switch, chrome pegs, chrome Strat Style trem bridge. I seem to have become addicted. Thought I'd introduce myself. I want to build another guitar around a Floyd Rose licensed trem I got off eBay, probably a strat body style with double humbuckers and a single in the middle. I want to do the paint, the sanding, all I can. I want to route in the inset for the Floyd Rose, if need be. This looks like a great place to ask for advice and generally chat.
