  1. Thank you kind sirs! Its always one of my favorite parts, when i get to put some finish on it, and see what its really looking like!
  2. Its ready for finish. Amazing that i can get it done in 2 days when i actually have 2 whole days in a row to work on it. This wood is really going to pop with finish on it! Its going to look awesome.
  3. Thanks man. I am exited for this one to get further along. I glued the neck in earlier. Everything looks perfect so far. I will carve the heel tomorrow and start sanding.
  4. ceder is extremely soft. It will cut like butter... Unless theere is extreme runout, then it might splinter. But other than that it should work just fine... Just rout it.
  5. I want to do it, i am just unsure if i can pull it off the way i have pictured in my head. Usually if i get an idea in my head, i can make it happen thats how this whole design started. Fully routed. Ready to glue in neck.
  6. Haha, I dont know how i didnt get that. I thought of every other acronym. I concluded it was Huge Sock.
  7. Neck carved. About to start routing! The sun is right above, so it washed out most of the colors.
  8. So, I got the neck fretted and im going to carve it today. I have been thinking about the finish. I have a crazy idea, and hope if i do it wont be too over the top (more) I was thinking of doing the top and headstock trans red, with a black burst. I LOVE this zebrawood so much. It looks great by itself. I have some time to decide before i am to that stage.
  9. Thats why i ALWAYS make a master template, then make other ones off of that one. One gets ruined, you still have the master template.
  10. I think with finish on it, it wont end up as distracting as it seems. The last one was identical, the only difference being the maple veneer in the neck blank. My dad is still using the garage, so i wont be able to get any work done yet. Hopefully tomorrow or within a few days.
  11. I completely get all of the suggestions and observations, and i agree with them. I think i just got a little carried away with too many different ideas all in one guitar. The last one was relatively simple, with some complex twists, which is why i think it came out so well. This one, i think i just tried to combine too many ideas. I had planned on doing binding from the beginning. Hopefully i can pull it all together. If not, then i definitely know what NOT to do for the next one.
  12. Wow, that was definitely one thing i didnt think would be so visually distracting to everybody. I liked it, and was kind of the reason why i did it like that. But when 3 of 3 people say NO!, i guess its more than just opinion, haha! I guess i could have put a 1/8" piece of mahogany on first, then put the veneer on that. Now i kind of have a feeling this one wont have nearly the same overall flow and match that the last one did. Pros, I thought about ziricote. I probably should have just gone with that. What i went with isnt going to match very much. Still deciding on whether or not i want to use binding on it. We shall see, we shall see.
  13. Headstock done. I am gluing the fretboard on right now.
  14. that paint scheme is awesome. My kind of pattern!
  15. Scott, It is a new GFS bridge. I guess if you really wanted it to, it could move side to side. But they are all touching already. Each saddle doesnt move up and down though. Each saddle has a grove in the middle, and they sit on a rail. A set screw on each side of the saddle, and that is how you adjust the intonation. I actuallly dont like it quite as much as the regular bridges.
  16. Since it is black, and it has blawkhawk pickups, it will be called BLACKHAWK for now. How original. 25" scale length mahogany body with walnut strips. Hard ash top with walnut stringers and curly maply centerpiece 24 fret ash fretboard BKP blackhawk set hipshot locking tuners FULL ALBUM
  17. Nice work! Agressive yet elegant. You can remove those tuners and carefuly fill the air pockets with some C/A. No one will ever know Thanks. That happend because i tried to recess teh bushings after the finish was on, and it lifted up. I would probably make it worse if i attemted to put CA under it.
