  1. you could try to make your own jack plate from something more flexible and conform it to the body. I'm not sure it would be the best way its just a thought.
  2. hi guys i just wanted to know if anyone could answer this for me. my 1990s rr suddenly started humming extremely loud i figured it was a grounding problem and found the ground on the output jack came loose i fixed that and it plays now but when i touch the strings they hum i thought that was from the string ground but that looks fine on it are there any other things it could be? Thanks in advance
  3. i agree with soapbarstrat you could also risk them messing them up and having the tuners stick
  4. the thing about that with the ouput jack in that location is you can easily step on the cord and pull it out. thats the only thing i dont like about it. that is an amazing finish on that guitar i loved it before when i saw the standard black know i love it even more.

  12. if i were you i would seal it completely first ive done a few guitars and said oh that spot will level out and trust me its always when your over confident that it looks bad. One thing to is what type of wood are you using because the grain will make a difference.
  13. ya ive heard of washcoats i havent done that yet but id suggest stain the wood get it to the amount of coats you want ( probably a few with swamp ash) then use a clear laquer over it then depending on what you want you could wetsand and buff.
  14. i read ( i think on eds) that the marble finish was outsourced to a company that used a machine and they refuse to do guitars now because of how expensive the machine is they say that guitars dont draw in enough money i could be wrong though.
  15. thats funny i was just going to post asking if anyone had ever done a mirror bullseye then i saw your pics they look great how do you cut the mirrors for the bullseye?
  16. you could plug the tuner holes with dowels then redrill for the tuners you want it might show up though so use a dowel of the same wood as the neck to make it less noticeble
