    i need some input on design capabilities-it's for my wife----she likes leopard print, so i want snakewood as the fretboard possibly with a slightly darker tone. but thats when i get stuck what should the body be made up of? mahogany back of coarse but what kind of top and what kind of stain? to burst or not to burst? trem or non trem--or tune-o-matic? gold, chrome, or black hardware? please everyone ask your girlfriends,fiances, and wive for ideas, unless you have some of your own.....please post pics too p.s. i can't tell her about this build-it will be very discrete-built at a friends.

    first of all ! YES! It should not be allowed to show the destruction of guitars! this forum is for educational purposes. everyone in this community share a common passion. and don't be a smart ass with the ban jimmi crap! that was showmenship-and pete townsend actually reuses his parts-not to mention that david gilmour has even used some of those parts pete smashed to bits, to create one of the most famous guitars out there. Education should be shown, not destruction. when the router goes inside the line-SHOW IT-this shows the importance of precission (not sure of the spelling). this guy was just looking for attention, and we're feeding his fire of destruction. he is trying to get his name out there with a gimik. well, i hope the end justifies the means.

    good find man im going to start to make my own pickups soon, do you have any advice? ive been looking at the winder from stewmac, but i think i could find better magnet than what they offer...any ideas on this and anything else would be greatly appreciated

    im begining to make my own pickups, and i want to check out some magnets-----buy in bulk-------anybody know anything about them? --has anybody made their own pickups before, if so then post your experiences

    wow, ive never seen a jigsaw used in a build yet--btw:im a second project builder, that was taught differently. this was sooooooooo helpful-i now just need a drill press-relitively speaking. im so glad i saw your thread.

    i have found that plastic pup covers change the sound. some guitarists say that normal "metal" covers don't change your sound, and some say they do. they aren't expensive to buy, so get em and try.... sound advice cause it rhymned

    hipshot looks so much nicer than wilkison bridges. i am ordering the tremelo for my next project, and have the non trem on my first project-the pic is my proofile picture-

    what is the total length of the neck from tip to tip? does the tenon go past the bridge? or does it stop before? or does it stop as soon as the bridge stops?
