  1. a bit on-topic (or off-topic), but where can I find Mighty Mite parts?
  2. my relief isn't that bad. and i did follow the typical set-up routine, loosen the truss rod until fret buzz goes away. but to eliminate all buzz from the guitar, i would have to raise the action to like half an inch! and even worse, I can't seem to intonate the three low strings either.
  3. the action on my guitar is higher on the 12th fret than it is on the 24th. ***? it this a common occurance? isn't it supposed to be higher as it goes up the neck? thanks
  4. no...the saddles on good toms are hardened steel. check out tone pros bridges...best toms money can buy ← the $16 gotohs from warmoth should be equally as good right? considering the fact that gotoh makes tonepros brides.....
  5. thanks guys. the reason i'm asking is because i believe the tune-o-matic bridge on my ESP LTD is die-cast and really cheap, because the saddles are wearing out from palm-muting. i thought it was unbelievable for metal to just wear out and have the edges round out over time. are all tune-o-matic bridges die-cast? and i'm guessing tremolos would be better when it's machined. actually wouldn't it only if the knife edges and the studs were machined out of steel?
  6. i've been hearing this term lately when it comes to guitar bridges. can someone expain to me what the differences between die-cast metal and metal are? and how they apply into the construction of guitars thanks
  7. bahhahahahha that's genius! legos are so great
  8. can't you make it part of a laminate neck? I think it'll be interesting if you can cut it into thin pieces and laminate all of them together with grains facing different directions for each piece.
  9. if you look around, it's in the miscellaneous section, so it might be custom jobs.
  10. i don't think you can, but you can try putting it in between two flat wooden or metal boards and hold it for a few days in that position. but i doubt it'll work.
  11. the first thing that came to my mind when I saw that cutout was "looks like my ballsack". but the design looks badass... because of the ballsack. haha just joking. I think it looks like Michael Angelo's mechanical flying V. rock on
  12. I'm craving for the signature Dimebag guitar body. does anyone know where I can get my hands on just the bodies? (except a used one from eBay) thanks
  13. oops sorry about that.... the Gotoh bridge is from Warmoth. what's a C clamp?
  14. the main reason i used to prefer neckthrough guitars is because of the almost non-existent neck-joint. but I recently acquired an AANJ RG570. it completely rules. doesn't even feel like a bolt-on guitar. I was amazed. now I have faith in bolt-on guitars! I've only considered buying neckthrough guitars up until my enlightenment...
  15. how would go about removing the anchors for a tune-o-matic bridge? i found the tutorial for removing trem posts, but not hardtails. should I leave it to a professional to do it for me? I don't want to put any cracks for scratches on my precious baby!! also, I've noticed the holes for the studs on my new Gotoh tune-o-matic are a bigger than the studs itself. It's a pretty loose fit. is it supposed to be like this? thanks! btw here are pictures of the two shipments I got from Warmoth and Guitar Parts Depot today...... PRE-SLOTTED Earvana Nut! can't wait to put this puppy in Gotoh Tune-o-Matic bridge!
  16. is this the schematic for the eBow? says "e-bow amplifier"?
  17. i kind of have the idea, but my main purpose for buying/building one is so that I can play Opeth songs and various songs with strings or wind instruments in them..... like that flute melody in the Mamma & the papas' "California Dreamin'"
  18. thinking that eBows were only $25, I was doing a search on eBay...... and realized that it costs $75, not $25. how can i make a custom e-Bow?
  19. my current trem height is shown below. I tune to E flat and I get mucho fret buzz. the 13th fret of G string is even completely dead! it's an Ibanez RG570 with Edge trem. tell me how this bridge height is..... so I know if I should adjust the bridge more or the neck. thanks! http://www.bloodyvelvet.com/pics/IMG_0138.JPG
  20. in the middle of pulling up on an Edge trem, the high E string just snaps. but the string itself isn't broken, it just came out of the string holding block on the trem. it's like, there's not enough grip between the saddle and the block, that it just snaps. why is this happening? i tighting the block really well and everything, but it keeps on getting loose. is it time for a new block? thanks
  21. hahah look at those knife edges, it's like...... SQUARE.
