  1. Well, personally, I think it should look like this: This one is Maple neck with Swamp-Ash wings, tung oiled, with gold hardware, and yours should be too. Anyway, that's my heavily biased opinion. and yeah, this forum is awesome. I am new here also. Good Luck! Jay.
  2. Cool. I'm getting pretty good at misunderstanding people around here. But yeah, I see that "crack" too. What is that?
  3. Litch - what is that top wood you've got there? Maybe you mentioned it back on page 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or ..., sorry if I missed it. Did you put something on it for the pic - it kinda looks wet or something? BTW, still looking for that $50, this could take a while... There's a problem with me saying that this thread is awesome? IMO, it's a nice thing to say. Jay.
  4. This thread is SO awesome. Question...and I bet I'm the only one that doesn't know, but what's up with the saran-wrap stuff wrapped around everything while you were putting the top on? I don't get it.... Dude, you RULE! Jay.
  5. There are fretless guitars that work just fine. Dweezil Zappa uses one ona few songs on one of his albums. It sounds very interesting. Also, I believe G&L Will do a fretless fingerboard on your custom guitar order. Anyway, I'm not offering suggestions on how to do it, but I DO know that it CAN be done. Jay.
  6. Thanks a lot everybody. Just to clarify again...I did NOT make the body....a luthier names Chris Woods did. I just don't want to give you guys the wrong impression. All I did was cut out a headstock. Anyway, thanks again everybody.
  7. As you requested....some outside pics. Outside pic 1 Outside pic 2 Outside pic 3 Outside pic 4 Enjoy. and Thanks GregP
  8. Dude, thanks for posting that. Very informative. And I REALLY want to see pictures of the whole guitar. Thanks, Jay.
  9. Thanks. No problem. Next time I take it outside for sanding, I'll take some pics. This may be later tonight, because I think I'm finally going to drill neck-attachment holes. That Carpet RULES! No matter how many times your cat throws up on it, it cleans up without leaving a trace. Jay.
  10. Sweet! I just ordered a set! How easy was that?!?!?!? THANKS
  11. Thanks man! Sometimes Noobs ask the silliest questions... Thanks again, Jay.
  12. What's up everyone. I'm looking to get a pair of gold humbucker covers to cover 2 Dimarzio humbuckers in my newest project. Do they even sell these things? Warmoth and Stewmac certainly don't have them. Does anyone? Thanks in advance, Jay.
  13. Wow, that's awesome dude. The pickguard idea was a good one, because your mirror pickguard doesn't get fingerprints as easily as everyone elses
  14. How long did you leave the paint stripper on the guitar before you scraped it off? I had really good results with leaving it on longer than the directions said....and I only had to use the stripper 2 times, but even after the first time, you could see the bare wood. Maybe you sohuld leave it on there longer??? Or maybe you're right....maybe Ibanez uses an insane amount of clear on their guitars. Who knows. Either way....if you're getting the paint off, then you're doing it right. Jay
  15. What you're seeing (I think) is the pencil mark from when I drew it on. The final design is a little different than the pencil marks, and in that particular spot, I just left about 2mm of the wood on the outside of the line. I THINK that's what you're seeing. Thanks for pointing it out, because I'm gonna go rub my fingers on it about 400 times to make sure I got it straight. HOWEVER, an error that I can point out is the tuner on the bottom-left. (High E). The distance betweein the first and second tuners is a little less than the distance between the others. You can see BOTH of these issues clearly in this picture... Thanks again everybody. Hi Boggs....I know you from the Carvin furom.
