    the sad part is there are so many poor desperate people who live down there as it is. Now there is nothing. Its like everyone just needs to leave and come back in a couple of months. The pictures are so bad. I saw video of slidell this morning, they said 10-15k large trees are down mostly on homes. I hope our buddy is ok.

    So I have been reading all day online I get home and the national media is doing a really bad job of covering all of this. IF you are looking for info go to drudge and follow the links to the local news channels there. Its getting really bad out there and it seems that the national media is not getting it.

    I would love to hear the paduak combo neck its been on my list for years to buy from warmoth. I have listed a lot of paduak stuff and always thought it would make a good neck wood. your figure is much more consistent. I have a trick for taking the red photos set your lens time to 1/8 in decent light and you get better depth.

    Gosh this is so bad. I have talked to some businesses who operate down there and people are saying its worse than what is being reported. I hope everyone is ok. Its unreal trying to piece together who is covering what.

    I hope you don't make it, knowing your skills I doubt I have a chance. This maybe my month. On a better note though I have not forgot about the build off. I had all that wood I had to dump. Now once I move and have some time I still have the sets set aside. Maybe we can do a fall build off. That GOTM entry has been worked over for months. I am still not happyt with the red but ohwell.

    I just talked to another ebay who said that Kirn is just a bully pushing around people because he thinks that he can. The other seller said that ron has been kicked off ebay once before, so we need to file as many complaints as we can. I need everyone to list any template that they have and when the auction is cancelled you need to file a complaint against him. heck list the template at 60 bucks, so no one buys it but it makes him cancel the auction.     I am so pissed. I just listed this: 7346038178 Guitar template for a luthier project parts It was pulled for IP reasons.... I am getting a lawyer now. Ron is due, anyone know a lawyer that dealt with ebay?

    I am going to send him a certified legal doc asking him to state what he owns "IP" wise in the auction that was cancelled. I am also going to fax a copy to the ebay fax ID I have of the vero program -Derek

    I have traded emails with this guy all day. He has yet to define what he owns in terms of what the Vero Program authorizes. He is a fraud, and a complete jerk off.

    I have myself and the owner of Luthiers International going after him. he emailed me back, nothing in there that is of that much interest. the guys got a lot of nerve I have to say that much

    I listed a tele guitar template that I made. I used these words. nashville Tele Guitar body blank luthier parts template Tele is the only word there that is registered to anyone and thats fender. John Marshall, a customer of mine, owner of Luthiers International also listed a tele template. His was cancelled using the VERO program, mine was too. John emailed me since he had pretty much the same problem and he watches my auctions. Under the vero program, I got his name as Ron Kirn, Kirn Consulting. Thats it, I looked up the patent office and trademark office I found nothing. So who is this guy and how did he get something trademarked that he does not own...

    if you are in TN go down to SC or GA and get us a load of real swamp ash. I think in my former life I operated one of those machines. I would love to do that all day.

    for a friend: Yes another tele may try something different when I am in the new shop will have more room. Standard tele setup cept for drop top. Used that special red dye I talked about a couple months ago. Special only for the fact that I have never heard anyone here talk about it. I love the way it hit the basswood back but the top it did not go across evenly. I think that more towards the wood than anything else. Standard mightymight neck, I order these and re-level the frets, if you order enough of them you can find some really nice ones. The trick is to let them sit for a while.

    woo hoo another vote thanks hunter. The burls is quite neat, I added red dye to it and sanded about 95% of it back, it really highlighted the top. -Derek

    in all honesty that wipe on poly stuff is really really easy... wipe on leave it. add another coat, let it dry, build another coat. I couldn't imagine putting lacquer over a burl. for what I wanted to do this was great. do full nitro is hard to come by in terms of time so doing a ntural burl guitar is perfect.
