  1. Im sure if you post some pics of the scratchs it you would get a more specific refinishing your particular guitar (not that you have gotten bad answers but it easier to give advice on something that you can see.) I mean when people are thinking of the scratchs they may think they know what they look like and give you an answer but then their actualy much worse then that so the suggested method may not be the best method.
  2. Well the thing is that it can go on an SG aswel where a regular floyd wont. The block for a regular floyd is to big to fit the narrow body of the SG.
  3. Also if people made sure that they link to the image hosted by a website like imageshack or somethging that would be helpful rather thank linking to the image on there computer so we can only see it when there online.
  4. Try the search function and then check the supply section of the main site.
  5. Great carning that guitar is looking amazing. Normaly themed guitars can look a bit tacky but this one looks great. Its a hard thing to do good but you seem to have done it pretty well. What is the neck joint? What tailpiece are you using? Cant wait to see this finished. That bottom horn (foot) looks like you spent alot of time carving. You have given the guitar greatr detail.
  6. THere is a way and as fdar as I know it involves an ohm meter. A great place to find out about wiring and stuff is the pup manufacturers forums like the forum at seymourduncan.com Ask around there and your sure to get some answers especialy ask for a few guys like lou and artie to name a few. Around here also there are a good few people taht know what there talking about so you should get some good answers. EDIT: Multi meter not ohm meter.
  7. Sorry but when you say a bolt on neck extending through the neck pup cavity Im assuming you mean set neck because I dont quite understand the bolt on neck idea?
  8. I think Alberto prety much covered. Im making a neckthru SG aswel next year after I get money from my next summer job. It would be easier to do it without the top but it doesnt make that much of a difference. DO whatever you ferel like its your guitar make it the way you want it.
  9. If all of you think those tickets are expensive greenday are playing here and tickets are selling in buyandsell (a free add magazine) for 300 euro. Madona tickets are over $100 aswel.
  10. Im just planning my SG at the moment (not nere buying things for it yet so Im ok for having to wait a year for floyd to start making them again)and at first I wanted a floyd but then I was put off by the fact that first it wouldnt fit the body Im making because the block is to thick and second the fact that it has to be setup again everytime you change string gauge and/or tuning. This seems to solve the problom abit and I would prefer the floyd to a bigsby.
  11. You might wanna tell us what type it is?
  12. Does anyone know if there more stable than OFR's. I mean by looking at it I would imagine so and some of the problomes of instability in tuning wouldnt exist.
  13. How long ago did you email them? I am realy interested in putting that on a guitar Im building next year.
  14. How about doing the splatter the same way that custom headstock details are done? Printing on the transperent film and then cut it out stick it on, thenclear coat over it
  15. Sgs all the way. I love how easy it is to reach all the frets and still be comfortable to play sitting. I know it has nothing to do with this topic but I love how thin it is it just adds to the easy accesability
  16. Yeah I saw that too. Cool show. I recon you could just sand the chrome to give it a rough surface then use auto paint.
  17. Hey, Just wondering how much everyone else normaly spends on the supplies for making a guitar. I havent finished the shopping list for my first guitars supplies and Im alread y up at abouut $670 and I still havent got prices for a few things. Thats without finishing supplies or adhieseves and it is supplies only. Any thoughts?
  18. Which are better Dunlop or Schaller strap locks?
  19. Thinkong about it I dont think it works because If you want to down tune after without using new strings you cant because the string is cut. Maybe Im looking at them wrong. Actualy wait Im wrong I think?
  20. THought Id let you see a find a saw on Ebay, looks pretty good the guys got 100% feed back and theres some good pups in there. I cant get them right now cause Im saving for other things but I thought you might be interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...3742588227&rd=1
  21. Someones selling it in the classifieds, its realy expensive though I think. Doubt youll buy it, have a look on ebay.
  22. It will probably be raised up to the same level as a Epiphone G400 because Im basing the designs on an SG and I like the playability of that model. I think its the same as the Gibson 61 reissue
  23. Whatever preferably medium. Theres no rush its just a bit of resourceing I gotta do for something thats coming up in about a year.
  24. Sorry I dont quite understand is that the distance from the top of the guitarsa body to the top of where the nut is?
