  1. you might try rubbing it down with 0000 steel wool or something, just to reduce how glossy it is. your hand would probably slide better then
  2. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Truss_rods/Hot...Truss_Rods.html this one comes in the 24" bass size, so does the model with the spoke nut.
  3. Good progress, and Nice pics! Seems like a pretty good camera.
  4. That won't give you the ability to do the same level of trem work that a transtrem will, though
  5. EVH used his steinberger w/ transtrem to record "summer Nights" I believe the song starts out like 1.5 steps up, goes to standard a ways in, and the solo is in another different place, can't remember where.
  6. Good Point. Now that I think about it, the only reason that I wanted to have it stay was because I play it sitting down, and the bar always gets caught on my leg. I am waiting until christmas to get a strap for it , but next week I can start grabbing for that bar all I want
  7. no idea man. I don't know if you are on Jemsite or not but your best bet would be to ask there.
  8. thanks guys. I try the sweeping deal, most guys make it look like part of the pick stoke almost but don't really move my hand that much at all, which is why i would like to have it stay up near my hand.
  9. Check with Rich at http://www.ibanezrules.com I just purchased some NOS Ibanez pink knobs off of ebay from a guy in Thailand, the pink color is nice but I don't have any from a FP to compare them to. They were much more reddish than the pink knobs on Universal Jems. I don't know if he has more but I would be glad to hook you up with his email if you want to check with him. One thing that confuses me are "white base knobs". Rich and Scott(vwall) were saying something about them on Jemsite and I don't know what that means.
  10. I just bought an RG550 in October. It's my second electric guitar, and it is so nice! It's an 1987 DY, and feels so smooth. One question for you RG guys - is there any easy way to make the trem bar stay where I put it? I would rather have it stay near my hand than dangle down, sometimes I grab for it and miss there. Is there anything I can do rather than buy new bushings?
  11. ^^^Good Advice. You obviously don't want to loose the deal you got on it, but if it really is a "hot" guitar, I bet the real owner had more than $500 dollars into it. If you change the serial number, what happens when you try to sell it? The guitar will appear stolen forever, no one will know how long ago it really happened.
  12. beautiful guitar - glad to see you entered it in the GOTM!!
  13. It says the pieces are 20x24 and and you get 2 pieces, that should probably be enough for 2 guitars - look at the picture, there is only one piece under that RG body.
  14. Truss rods are not meant to twist. They are made to compensate for string tension on the neck, which is why necks sometimes need adjustment if you make a change in string gauge for example. On your type of truss rod, one rod will stay the same length while the other changes as you tighten or loosen it, making the neck bow forward or backward.
  15. also, as wes was talking about his setup, he didn't mention his EMG's (which Drak would already know anyway), but it is something that you don't want to forget about
  16. That looks very nice! I'm sure that Ben will love it - I would.
  17. wheres camcool?? oh yeah, his mom made him leave....
  18. it says that they take about 3-4 weeks on his site. It was actually a message from late august, talking about moving to California. I guess they had some problems and when they finally got to filling orders the wait was like 6 or 8 weeks, but they said it should be back to their normal 3-4 by sometime in the fall. Since it's mid December now, I figure that it's 3-4 weeks.
  19. and the ones on his site aren't really that expensive anyways, brand new and not much more than the ebay ones were going for.
  20. drak already said in another post that none of his amps are newer than the mid 70's i think.... drak, you better have some other stuff ready to feed your WOD before it gets to any of your new expensive stuff.
  21. This i believe is a rule of the police officers, no working inside an establishment serving liquor. I know that was the case in ohio and I believe that it is in many other states too. The club is able to hire them to work outside the building in the parking lots and they have said the articles, but there weren't any on that night. back on topic, Darrell's murder hasn't sunk into me yet - it seems like theres no way that it really could have happened, one of those guys that seems like he will always be there. RIP
